Man arrested for attempt robbery in Ashford Town centre

Yesterday local beat officers received a report of a male trying to snatch handbags in Ashford Town Centre. The beat officers conducted extensive CCTV enquiries and identified the suspect. He was swiftly located and arrested and remains in police custody.

To keep yourself as safe as possible please see below safety advice:

Keep purses and bags closed and secure at all times

Use a money belt if you’re carrying a significant quantity of cash

Conceal your wallet in a buttoned or zipped pocket where it doesn’t bulge

If you see anyone suspicious, go into a public place with CCTV such as a shop and alert a staff member and the police
